The 65th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), held from April 21–26, 2025, in Bulawayo, concluded with resounding success, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s industrial and economic journey. Celebrated as the “Blue Sapphire Edition,” this year’s fair underscored Zimbabwe’s commitment to industrialization and regional integration under the theme “Industrialisation: Crafting an Integrated Economic Landscape.”
Unprecedented Global Participation
ZITF 2025 attracted an impressive 435 direct exhibitors, occupying 47,140.87 square meters of exhibition space, accounting for 95.2% of the available capacity. The event saw participation from 24 international exhibitors representing 17 countries, including Canada, China, Egypt, Japan, Pakistan, South Africa, Tanzania, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The fair also welcomed high-level delegations from India, organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), highlighting Zimbabwe’s growing significance as a gateway to regional and global markets.
Enhancing Visitor Experience
To improve accessibility and reduce congestion, ZITF introduced several customer-friendly measures:
- Satellite Office in Harare: Located at the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) offices, this facility handled inquiries, bookings, and the collection of exhibitor badges, streamlining the entry process.
- Expanded Parking Facilities: Additional parking spaces were provided to accommodate the increased number of visitors and exhibitors.
- Eco-Friendly Shuttle Services: Shuttles transported guests between the exhibition center and key hotels, offering a sustainable transport solution.
Focus on Industrialization and Innovation
Aligned with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030, ZITF 2025 emphasized the importance of establishing a strong and competitive industrial base to drive economic growth and enhance global competitiveness. The fair spotlighted strategies essential for accelerating economic development and catalyzing trade opportunities provided by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Key sectors showcased included heavy and light manufacturing, agro-processing, mining, automotive engineering, renewable energy, and digital transformation.
